Work Experience

Ball Aerospace Engineering Aide 1

I have worked for Ball Aerospace since May 30, 2022. In my capacity as an Engineering Aide 1, I assist use digital engineering technologies such as Unreal Engine 4  to create systems that promote warfighter readiness. I work with experienced engineers to determine client objectives for summer projects. In addition, I work with engineers and Air Force officers to promote STEM engagement to high school students.

Wright Scholar Research Assistant

I worked as a Wright Scholar during the summer of 2021. The Wright Scholar Research Assistant program is an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) program for high-achieving high school juniors and seniors. As a Wright Scholar I worked on a project for the US Air Force Academy. The goal of the project was to create a satellite operations simulator to help train USADA cadets on orbital mechanics. I worked with a team of 2 other Wright Scholars and 2 Ball Aerospace contractors. Some of my key contributions were:

  • Programed functions to automate computation of ΔV for orbital maneuvers such as Hohmann Transfers and phasing orbits. Implemented realistic game play mechanics by adding fuel restrictions and movement constraints for communications satellites.
  • Worked with a team of 2 other research assistants as well as 2 contractors from Ball Aerospace who served as mentors.
  • Determined and delivered on stakeholder objectives through design reviews with the client and a USAFA Cadet familiar with the needs of the program.
  • Co-presented a final presentation to stakeholders, military officers, and industry professional and the details and successes of the project.
